About B.E.S.T Inc!!
The objective of B.E.S.T., Incorporated is to reunite the bond between the African American students through community service and annual class reunions.
The organization began because of desegregation in the 1970’s; we were all bused away from our neighborhood schools, Carnage Junior High and John W. Ligon, to attend Broughton, Enloe, and Sanderson High Schools. In 1990, after many inquiries about the whereabouts of our classmates, several people got together to form a reunion committee. In 1992, the reunion committee was formed, and the original committee members consisted of; Vivian Lee, Zenobia Fuller-Rogers, Clarence Lamb, Minnie Cooley-Moore, Everett Gill, Phyllis Lundy, Pete Green and Annette Wagner. These first committee members decided on the name B.E.S.T. (Broughton, Enloe, Sanderson, Together) because they wanted a name that represented each school from the neighborhood.

A little bit about our Fundraisers:
B.E.S.T., Inc. is a 501(c) non-profit entity whose mission was to reunite the bonds of the African
American students from Broughton, Enloe, and Sanderson for annual class reunions. However, over
the past several years, we have broadened our mission and now include community service.
To name a few, we have participated in the walk for Muscular Dystrophy, voter registration drives, partnered with the City of Raleigh on the KaBoom Playground Project at the Courtney T. Johnson
Center, worked with various senior citizen centers, donated funds to the baseball and basketball
leagues at Roberts Park.
BEST, Inc will help with Princess Tea Party, Smart Start Toddler/ pre k event, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day event, and sponsor two kids to join basketball league and help serve at Children’s Ice Cream event.
Annually, we adopt a family at Thanksgiving and Christmas in addition to sponsoring kids at Roberts Park Community Center at their annual
Christmas party.
